Cringetrender Unveils Debut Album Take Your Meds, A Raw Exploration of Mental Health
Cringetrender, a Queer, disabled, Ngarrindjeri and Kaurna artist, has today released its debut album Take Your Meds. Recorded in just five days at Northern Sound System and funded by youth arts organization Carclew, the album delivers an unfiltered, emotional journey through the throes of mental illness.
Featuring ten powerful tracks—plus a special bonus track offering a preview of the themes in the upcoming second album, Drink Some Water—Take Your Meds is the first in a trilogy of albums that chronicle the cycles of mental health: struggle, healing, and the realization that recovery isn’t always linear.
With raw lyricism, bold production, and an unmistakable authenticity, Cringetrender embraces vulnerability, using music as a vessel for connection and catharsis. The album blends elements of alternative rock, punk, and electronic influences, creating a sound that is as urgent as it is introspective.
Cringetrender will also be performing selected tracks from the album at its Album Launch Party at Nexus Arts, 4/4/25.
Take Your Meds now streaming on all platforms.
